Is it true that understanding and coding in python is necessary to build a website?

Building a website involves lots of efforts and creativity. And there are so many assumptions about what it takes to build a site.

Recently, a friend of mine asserted that python is a must to be able to build a site. How true is that? Does it mean that all websites are built with python codes?

Coding certainly helps you, but it is not necessary as you can use CMS to build any kind of website you want

The practical application of coding only becomes very necessary if there are certain functionalities you want from the site that you can't find in CMS.
